Many people knew the BMW i8 would be big. BMW knew the i8 would be big. But when it came time for locations to announce, “BMW i8 for sale!” no one expected for it to be this big.

The BMW i8 is a sexy car that, while it looks like a sports car ready to eat up the road, it’s actually an electric car that actually does have the capability of eating up the road. BMW doesn’t mess around when it comes to new technology – they weren’t going to make a sub-par electric car. This is one of the many reasons people are so interested in the very time that the BMW i8 for sale sign goes up at their local dealerships.

In November 2014, the word was that BMW had an 18-month waiting list for those looking to buy the i8. They were considering boosting the output of i8 cars they had in production, but didn’t finalize anything. However, just recently Harald Kruger, the production boss of the BMW i8, has announced that the assembly rate at the Leipzig plant will go up from 10 to 20 cars per day. This is good news for those waiting to get their hands on the wheel of an i8.

Currently the wait list is still over 4 months, which is a definite improvement over 18 months, but that time will be reduced even further because of the added boost. That’s also beneficial because then it means there won’t be stories about $100,000 markups on the horizon.

If you’re one of those waiting for a BMW i8 for sale, you may want to lease a BMW from Braman West Palm Beach in the meantime. Enjoy all that one of the many current BMW vehicles has to offer while you wait for the coveted i8 to arrive. There’s certainly plenty of time to sample one of their other excellent cars – that is, if you haven’t already.
