BMW M4 Coupe and 4-Door M3 Are Lighter, Faster and More Powerful

The all-new BMW M4 Coupe (and M3 4-door sedan) are both now on sale at Braman BMW in West Palm Beach and Jupiter.  Both models are lighter, faster and more powerful than previous models and feature dramatic new styling.  A convertible version of the M4 will also be offered.

New Engine Produces Power and Performance for 2015 BMW M4

The 2015 BMW M4 features a return to the inline-6 engine format made famous by generations of BMW M cars.  The all-new, high-revving, 3.0-liter engine that powers the BMW M3 and M4 engine utilizes M TwinPower Turbo technology to produce 425 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.   0 to 60 mph acceleration takes just 3.9 seconds with the optional 7-speed M-DCT automatic transmission, and 4.1 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual.

Despite the increase in both power and performance, the new engine also reduces both emissions and fuel consumption by nearly 25%.  Gains in both performance and efficiency are due in part to a substantial reduction in the vehicle’s weight thanks to the increased use of lightweight materials such as carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and aluminum for a number of chassis and body components; both the M4 and M3, for instance, feature a carbon roof.

Technical Features of the BMW M4 Enhance Performance

BMW engineers worked closely with BMW Motorsport’s professional racing drivers to develop the M4 and M3, including extensive testing at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit.  As a result, the vehicles include a track-specification cooling system, aerodynamic bodywork, launch control, aluminum suspension, electric power steering with comfort, sport and sport+ settings, as well as high-performance radial tires designed specifically for the M4 and M3.

Interior Features Add To Sporting Capabilities and Feel of 2015 BMW M4

While the general architecture of the interior of both cars will be familiar, the design is even more sporting in both appearance and function.  Aesthetic touches include M door sill finishers, an M driver’s footrest, M gearshift lever, M-design circular instruments with white graphics, M leather steering wheel with chrome trim and color contrast stitching for the upholstery.  The front seats take visual inspiration from the bucket seats fitted in racing cars, but also include comfort-enhancing features such as electric adjustment and heating.

Extensive Standard Equipment and a Host of Options Enhance Dynamics and Comfort of 2015 BMW M4

The list of unique standard equipment on the M4 and M3 include the CFRP roof with exposed carbon fiber construction, four-pipe exhaust system and standard forged 18-inch BMW M light-alloy wheels with mixed-size tires.  Forged 19-inch light-alloy wheels with mixed-size tires can be ordered as an option.  Inside, the M Sport leather multifunction steering wheel is fitted as standard, as are bucket-style M sports seats

Technical features include the Navigation system Professional, offering extra capability, sharper graphics and 3D elements for the map display, as well as Active Driving Assistant, which warns the driver of a looming collision with a pedestrian, and the adaptive full LED headlights.  A Head-Up Display is also available.
