2019 X5 a Top Luxury Midsize SUV

BMW’s 2019 X5 is a top luxury midsize SUV on the market. Edmunds calls the X5 “a benchmark for the modern luxury performance crossover SUV.” Kelley Blue Book praises the new generation’s improved “off-road chops.” US News analyzes reviews from multiple sources and declared, “this BMW delivers a combination of performance and luxury that few rivals can match.”

Performance Designed

The 2019 X5 marks the fourth generation of BMW’s largest model (until the new X7 comes along). The starting inline-six engine is more than powerful enough at 335-horsepower, and the 456-horsepower turbocharged V8 engine gives you an incredible option.

As always, no BMW ever ships without precision handling. The 2019 X5 exemplifies this with powerful grip, exceptional performance, and surprising smoothness even in weather or on rough surfaces. As Kelley Blue Book mentions, the off-road handling is at the top of its class.

Many want to stay with a gas-powered vehicle, but they also want good mileage. The X5 earns superb fuel economy in its class: 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway. The fourth-generation X5 can also tow up to 7,200 lbs.

Riding in Luxury

What about the interior? The X5 wouldn’t be a top luxury midsize SUV without impressing here.

The X5 can seat five in its starting configuration, or up to seven with an optional third row. Alternately, you start with an impressive 34 cubic feet of cargo space, or a monstrous 72 cubic feet with the second row folded down. Space is used intelligently to give you a great deal of adaptability depending on what the situation needs.
