There’s been a lot of noise in anticipation of the 2021 BMW 5 Series release date, including leaks that have given us a sneak peak at the BMW 5 Series redesign. Despite the leaked photos, BMW went ahead and put up a teaser of the upcoming model online. The teaser showcased the new LED signature light pattern.
About the BMW 5 Series Redesign
The leaked materials are two images which gave us a close look at the front and rear-end design of the BMW 5 Series LCI. The photos appear to be part of an official press package and features the BMW 5 Series G30 LCI with the M Sport package.
As testing is being finalized for the BMW 5 Series redesign, we get a unique opportunity to see the modified grille. On trend as always, BMW has redesigned the 5 Series grille as an enlargement, with gains in height and width.
The lower part of the bumper also seems to be subject to some modifications, which will make the 5 Series look even sportier and more aggressive. The eye’s have been reshaped with a boxy “U” shaped daytime running lights – same as with the 3 Series. There do not, however, seem to be any changes to the profile.
In the rear come some more subtle modifications. The lights and the bumper will be slightly revised on the redesign. The prototype for this is a hybrid version of the 5 Series, as shown by the black sticker on the C-pillar.
We can also see black rims containing blue stirrups. Taking a look inside the cabin, the new redesign will include the new iDrive 7 systems as well as the Professional Live Cockpit for the driver and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. There will be new paint colors for the exterior and new materials and color combinations for the interior.
