Longing for the good old days? The BMW Z4 Roadster, an aggressive new addition to the Bimmer lineup, evokes classic power and design.
The New BMW Z4 Release Date
When you can drive this beauty straight off the lot? That’s going to be in early 2019. The new BMW Z4 release date will be later this summer at a special event – as yet unnamed. If that’s too mysterious, it will also be bringing down the house at the Paris Motor Show this October.
The Look
The exterior is an awe-inspiring blend of modern and classic features. It’s sleek, with a longer hood, exquisite grille work, and steel roll bars that evoke the long history of roadster while its low stance is undeniably BMW.
The Performance
Reports vary at the moment, but expect a base version in the sDrive28i that comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that gives you 240 hp. It’s the M40i that we have our eyes on. This looks to be the Z40i prototype that’s gotten a few test drives with stunning reviews. It’s rumored with an engine in the 350 hp range that achieves 0 to 60 mph time in 4.8 seconds. (We also expect to see models in the middle of these two at the 300 hp and 335 hp range.)
The biggest advantage comes in the handling, where the BMW Z4 Roadster should be one of the smoothest performing cars BMW has ever released.
The Affordability
It was quoted to one test driver at just under 40,000 British pounds. That translates to around $50,000, making it one of the most affordable dream cars to come round. Don’t hang your hat on that price, but do expect this to be a remarkably accessible dream roadster.
The new BMW Z4 release date is just around the corner. This makes it the perfect time to start anticipating one of the brand’s most untamed cars. The BMW Z4 Roadster promises to be a remarkable sight with performance to back it up.
