The BMW XM has started appearing on public roads. The XM is not fully in production yet, however, a few lucky BMW employees, most notably the previous head of the M division, Markus Flasch, have gotten to feel what it’s like behind the wheel of this sleek beast.  Most recently, an XM was spotted on the roads of Italy.

Like other latest BMW models, the XM has excellent styling elements and design. Its color options represent the new-school and old-school designs. Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White, and Carbon Black look classically clean, while Toronto Red, Marina Bay Blue, and Dravit Grey represent the new cutting edge.

Some Cool Specs

The new BWM XM’s powertrain combines the S68 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8-cylinder engine paired with hybrid electric motors. They are all-wheel drive that features the tuned xDrive system. The standard XM combines 590 lb-feet of torque and 644 horsepower-194 from the motor and 483 from the engine. The more expensive trim will deliver 753-lb-ft of torque and 750 horsepower.

The XM models come with a 25.7-kWh battery pack that is expected to provide an electric driving range of about 30 miles. This estimated range and great horsepower make XM the most powerful BMW soon-to-be in production. The XM is considerably larger than X5 and X6, giving more of the vibes of the X7 and X8.

Interior

The BMW XM is a two-row model with five uniquely finished seats and other interior elements. It also has an excellent pattern in the headliner. Outside, it has a split-headlight design, and inside are LED lighting elements that pulse when you open the door, receive a phone call, or sense an object outside.

The XM’s exterior assumes an angular design that makes it more imposing than other SUVs and many BMW models. It has a strong, accented character line that rises along the side to the rear doors.
