2022 BMW X7 Reviews, Pricing, and Specs

November 19, 2021

For lovers of full-size luxury SUVs- be forewarned- the 2022 BMW X7 is one special car. First introduced in 2019, the 2022 version is a sophisticated machine with several nice features. One of the X7’s major differentiators is that it has three rows of seating, which also makes it one of the largest BMWs on the market.

COMFORTABLE SEATING

For those with large families who want a luxury full-size SUV with three rows of comfortable seating, the 2022 BMW X7 is just the right choice. Like all BMWs, the 2022 X7 comes with many extras which can make the car look and feel palatial; and make no mistake about it, the car comes with a ton of power.  Though sporty, the 7-seater BMW has been designed with comfort as a top priority.

EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR

Except for a few aesthetic modifications, the exterior shape of the 2022 BMW X7 is the same as the 2019 model. The interior has been fully utilized, but it does have limited cargo space.  The dash reveals the state-of-the-art iDrive system that can be controlled by a rotary dial, the touch screen, or optional gesture control. The 7-seater BMW will have many standard functionalities that include numerous apps that will be accessible via Bluetooth and USB. The dashboard has a wide 12.3-inch infotainment center with a cluster of other digital controls, including Apple CarPlay, a state-of-the-art audio system, Wi-Fi hotspot, and built-in navigation. The Alpina XB7, the top model, also comes with power sunshades for the second-row windows. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, heated front seats, and leather seats.

The 2022 BMW X7 is available in three trims, all backed with a powerful engine, including an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD. Despite its size, the 7-seater BMW is surprisingly fast, reaching 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds. Not bad, but then again, the car was never meant for the racetrack. The fuel economy probably isn’t the primary concern if you’re looking for a full-size SUV, but in any case, the X7 offers 19 and 24 mph in the city and on highways, respectively.

Like older BMWs, the 2022 X7 comes with several standard safety features that include blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.

The top-of-the-line BMW 2022 Alpina XB7 will have stiff competition from the likes of Audi SQ7, Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and the Mercedes AMG GLS 63. But compared with its constituents, the Alpina XB7 has over a hundred horsepower more than the SQ7 and over seventy on the Cayenne Turbo. The Alpina XB7 also has several stylish features in the interior which create excellent aesthetics.

THE COST

The price for the basic model starts at around $75K but the top-of-the-line Alpina will cost almost double.  Add in the cost of upgrades and you are looking at a car that costs just over $150K. The 2022 BMW X7 with Premium Package is not necessarily cheap, but this luxury car offers much more than just space, and it is worth it.

The BMW X7 is best suited for large wealthy families. And while the cargo space and the rear seats are not as roomy as its competitors, the X7 offers a much more comfortable drive, a very quiet interior, and has many hi-tech features that make this beauty stand out. BMW does offer a limited and powertrain warranty, in addition to an above-average complimentary maintenance package for three years or 36,000 miles.  Visit Braman Motorcars and/or call 1-561-465-8293 to learn more today.
