A 2021 BMW 330e Plug-In Hybrid Sedan being charged

Meet the 2021 BMW 330e Plug-in Hybrid Sedans

The 3 Series model line by BMW has just been expanded to include two new models. The new BMW plug-in hybrid models are the 330e and the 330e xDrive. The 2021 BMW 330e comes packed with a turbocharged four-cylinder, 2-liter engine, an e-motor and a high-voltage battery pack. The BMW 330e boasts the latest technologies and key upgrades, improving upon the previous 3 Series.

2021 BMW 330e: What to Know

The 2.0 TwinPower Turbo engine complimented by BMW’s stellar electric traction motor means more torque. The high-voltage, gross lithium-ion battery is positioned under the rear seats. This electric-only model is made for performance-oriented driving: it’s the Ultimate Driving Machine, after all! The EPA estimates the pure electric range for the BMW 330e Sedan at 35 km / 21.748 mi.

BMW improved on the 3 Series by enhancing power and performance in the 330e and 330e xDrive Sedans with XtraBoost. You may also opt for Sport mode; the XtraBoost feature offers an instant 40ps power increase for up to 10 seconds.

The 2021 BMW 330e features an electrified drive train, allowing the operator to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds. The sleek new Sedan has a maximum speed of 124 mph when all-season tires are in use. This top speed figure changes to 140 mi/h with high-performance summer tires.

The new BMW 330e has an 8-speed Sport Steptronic transmission. This quick-shifting sport automatic transmission now has optimized hydraulic control and shorter gearing which translate to faster response times and acceleration for the driver.

The new BMW plug-in hybrid includes BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is a digital personality that responds to “Hey BMW”. Other upgrades on this model include the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistance Package Plus with Back-Up Assistant. For your convenience and safety, the BMW 330e can be locked and unlocked right from your smartphone.

2022 BMW 3 Series to Go All Electric

Remember when BMW said it wouldn’t build an all-electric BMW 3 Series? It hasn’t been that long ago, but judging from the test vehicle many saw in Germany in January, it’s certainly coming soon. BMW has already said they will release 25 electrified models by 2023, and this will certainly be part of the line-up. Many sources, though, indicate it will only be released in the Chinese market.

What the Cameras Captured

Many indicate this 2022 BMW 3 Series Electric model sits on a longer wheel-based platform thanks to shots that show much longer rear doors. It is this feature that leads so many to believe it will only be released in China, as currently the long wheelbase model in the line is only available to that market. The longer wheelbase makes sense, though, as it’s likely the only way BMW can stow a large enough battery pack to offer any real range with an electric model.

The model was heavily camouflaged when captured, but the front looked fairly similar to the BMW i with a radiator grille that was shaped similarly to the iX3. This model, however, did not feature any exhaust cutouts on the rear bumper. A charging port will likely be on the driver’s side front fender.

Some industry analysts have gone as far as to suggest the entry-level version of this model might be similar to the iX3 SDrive 75e with a peak output of 286 PS. They’ve also suggested, though, that it is possible a higher output variant could be under testing at the moment.

Potential Features Abound

Thanks to the longer wheelbase platform, it is possible drivers will get more cabin space than they have in the past. In fact, it could amount to as much as an extra 1.7 inches for rear passengers. Rear cargo space could increase, too, maybe as much as 17 cubic feet of cargo space could be an option with this choice.

It’s certain to debut in China when it’s complete. The real question for many BMW enthusiasts, though, is will it be available in other markets as well.

Which New BMW 3 Series Should You Buy?

You cannot go wrong with any of the BMW 3 Series models; this line is one of the brand’s best-performing – and for good reason. It offers a unique blend of practicality and performance, comfort and convenience. All wrapped up in a luxurious package. While many BMW fans feel that the 3 Series stagnated in the last few years, the seventh-generation not only looks stunning, it has the performance chops you expect.

The new BMW 3 Series is visually stunning and arguably the most aggressive, athletic 3 to hit the road in a generation. Let’s look at two models, the 330i and the M340i and see how they compare:

The 330i features a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline four, producing a very respectable 225 horsepower and 294 pound-feet of torque. The M model’s turbocharged 3.0 liter inline six boosts those figures to 382 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque. It’s not just the size of the engine that differs: the M340i offers a limited slip differential for the rear axle, revamped wheel camber, and stiffer suspension (with a 0.4 inch lower ride). Aesthetically, the M340i boasts a distinctive grille.

Both the 330i and M340i are available in rear or all wheel drive and with an eight-speed automatic transmission. To get a more aggressive drive with the 330i, you can opt for the M Sport package for an additional $5200.

Which new BMW 3 Series is right for you? Most of the time, both models drive the same, offering comfort on the highway and a reassuring grip. In real-world driving conditions, the 330i and M340i acquit themselves admirably. Bottom line: it’s up to you! If you want a bit more power and aggression, the M340i is a great choice… but the 330i is no slouch either, especially with the M Sport package. 2019 BMW 330i By the Numbers

The 2019 BMW 330i is a sporty little beast! And more good news: the driving experience is much improved over the previous model. This is the seventh generation of the 330i, so let’s take a look at how it stacks up in terms of performance.

2019 BMW 3-Series: The Legend Continues

The 3-Series is one of the most enduringly popular series in the venerable automaker’s history.  It balances like fuel efficiency and safety features with comfort and luxury. The 2019 330i model by the numbers:

Horsepower 255 hp
Torque 295 lb – ft
MPG 26 City / 36 Highway (Up up to 42 at 75 mph!) *
Engine2.0 L TwinTurbo Inline 4 Cylinder
Transmission8 Speed Automatic
Drive TrainRear Wheel Drive (Optional All Wheel Drive in 330i xDrive)
0 – 60 MPH Acceleration 5.4 Seconds

* The 330i outdoes many vehicles that tout their fuel-efficiency – and even some hybrids! This is a remarkable feat.

The 2019 models adds 1.6 inches to the wheelbase, a bit more legroom in the back cabin, 4 more cubic feet of cargo space (17 cubic feet versus 13 in the previous model).

The 330i performs like a BMW should, and optional xDrive and M models up the ante even more. They are a true joy to drive, and precision and handling is on-point.

Inside, the experience continues. The 2019 BMW 330i is, as a review notes, a “technology powerhouse” with a 12.3 inch digital instrument panel, 8.8 inch standard multimedia touchscreen (optional 10.25 inch), voice commands, and even gesture control. Apple CarPlay connectivity is free for the first year and available for a flat rate thereafter.

There is also a host of optional safety features, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot warnings, forward automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, backup assistant, and – we love it! – Extended Traffic Jam Assistant.

G20-gen BMW 3 Series Comparison | Braman BMW of West Palm Beach, Florida

G20-Gen BMW 3 Series vs. the Competition

The G20-gen BMW 3 Series may be BMW’s most exciting launch. It’s received widespread praise and eager comparisons to its competition. A recent BMW 3 Series comparison was a toe-to-toe one performed by Auto Express. Can the Mercedes Benz C-Class or Jaguar XE really compare, or do they fall short?

An Easy Answer

The comparison threw the BMW 320d M Sport, Mercedes Benz C220d AMG Line, and the Jaguar 20d R Sport into a no holds barred competition. These models are good competitors for the automotive segment they inhabit.

It turns out the G20-gen BMW 3 Series is unparalleled. Neither the Benz nor the Jaguar really held their own. Benz’s C-Class was a hair quicker at launch, cutting the BMW’s 0-60 mph time by a tenth of a second. (The Jaguar was a full 1.5 seconds slower.) That’s an important measure, but both competitors fell off when measuring each car’s acceleration at speed. Here, the BMW easily outmaneuvered the Benz and the Jag.

Raising the Bar

The 3 Series impressed with smooth shifts and agility. This is no surprise. BMW has long focused on the driver experience as one of dynamic decision-making and control. That means having an immediate feel for how the car responds to every command. By comparison, Auto Express highlighted “hesitation and jerkiness” for the Benz and Jag.

The BMW also surpassed its competitors on its refinement. The exquisite interior is made more so by a “hushed” composure. They called the damping “plush and smooth,” which makes for a very comfortable ride. They also enjoyed the sheer amount of legroom and width to move your arms around, a striking improvement on the “cramped-feeling Jag.”

The Final Tally

In their final tally of the BMW 3 Series comparison, Auto Express decided the G20-gen BMW 3 Series ran away with the crown and it wasn’t close. The Benz came in a distant second due to concerns about its feel and agility. Once top of its class, the Jaguar XE came in last due to the aged tech both in the cabin and under the hood, as well as a cramped interior.

Sometimes, these comparisons in a certain segment are a bit closer. When there’s a gulf in quality as clear as this, however, the winner’s obvious.

Buy a BMW 3 Series | Used BMW 3 Series | Braman BMW West Palm Beach, Florida

Why Buy a BMW 3 Series?

When you buy a BMW 3 Series, it’s your entry car to the brand. Well, this is no longer always the case. BMW has expanded options for their “entry level” cars, freeing up the 3 Series to get a bigger dose of luxury, technology, and prestige.

Driver-Focused Experience

Why buy one in the first place? Three decades ago, the BMW 3 Series was the economy-focused model. Today, it’s found a more developed niche balanced right between the incredible performance of high-end BMWs and the accessibility of entry-level models.

Next-Gen Engineering

This provides access to BMW’s terrific driver-focused design. Everything is built to connect driver to road. You respond to the road, and the car’s reaction is immediate. This is the BMW design philosophy that the 3 Series immediately lets you sit down inside.

The 3 Series provides access to BMW’s considerable brand prestige. Perhaps you’re traveling back to the sleekness and fuel efficiency of the F30 cars or the sophisticated design of the 300 hp E90 models. Whichever new or used BMW 3 Series you choose, you’re getting a prestige car that turns heads. It makes the drivers you accelerate past marvel. You’ll see valets smile and nod in appreciation when you pull up. It makes you feel good.

When you buy a BMW 3 Series car that’s pre-owned, you need a partner to ensure that it’s in the best shape possible. It should feel just like a brand new car, whether you’re driving it to work or enjoying it on a weekend drive along the coast. You need assurances in the world we live in today, and a staff of service people who will back them up.

Whether you are interested in purchasing, leasing, or pre-owned options, find what you need here.

2016 BMW 3 Series Plug-In Hybrid

2016 BMW 328e plug-in hybrid prototype

Everyone loves a good story. The story of the 2016 BMW 3 Series plug-in hybrid is a good one.

For years people have relied heavily upon gasoline to get from point A to point B. But we’ve finally realized that this resource won’t last forever. Compounding the problem, it isn’t exactly environmentally friendly. BMW has been right along with this and has since sought out ways to make new cars. This also gives them the chance to innovate like never before. Rather than just thinking up different designs and how to build a better engine, BMW now gets to build a better car all around.

Now we have the up and coming 2016 BMW 3 Series plug-in hybrid. Car folks are eagerly awaiting more details as BMW still has this baby under wraps – quite literally. Recent spy photos have taken a few shots of a BMW 3 Series hybrid, complete with camouflaged body paint. They’re already hard at work providing the BMW i3 and BMW i8, so the 2016 BMW 3 Series plug-in hybrid is simply one of the next steps in their lineup. After all, electric cars are still in their infancy when it comes to technology, so the 2016 BMW 3 Series plug-in hybrid is most likely ready to help customers who need to drive farther and can’t utilize just a battery for power, but still hope to be more environmentally friendly than before.

We still have yet to hear about the specs on this car. Moreover, most speculation about it is based off what has already been seen with the BMW X5 plug-in hybrid, or at least something similar considering that the X5 is part of BMW’s SUV crossover lineup.

Until BMW announces their new design – most likely at the next big auto show – you may have to settle for a BMW 3 Series from the Braman BMW dealership in West Palm Beach. Then again, it’s a BMW – so are you really settling or getting something more?
